Being in the outdoor gear industry, Lightheart Gear has always been ecologically minded. Electricity usage was an important consideration in the design of their Fletcher, NC based factory. Their ground-mounted solar array covers nearly all of the electricity they need throughout the year.
System Details:
48 x 540 watt ground-mounted bi-facial solar panels.
With a total capacity of 25.92 kW (48 x 540W), this system can generate a significant amount of electricity! Plus, Bi-facial panels capture sunlight from both sides, increasing energy production by up to 20% more than traditional panels by reflecting light from the ground. Ground-mounted systems allow for ideal tilt and orientation, maximizing sunlight exposure throughout the day for better performance compared to roof-mounted systems. Being ground-level makes cleaning and servicing easier and safer. Plus, better airflow under the panels improves cooling, which can enhance efficiency.
